Scope of Services

Los Angeles Moving provides a full range of relocation services for moves within the US, including packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and optional storage or specialty item handling.

1. Service Agreement: All services are detailed in your quote or contract, based on an initial assessment. Non-binding estimates may adjust based on actual weight, volume, or unforeseen factors; binding estimates lock in the price.
2. Exclusions: We do not handle international moves, hazardous materials, perishables, or prohibited items (refer to our separate policy). Services are limited to the continental US unless otherwise specified.

Booking and Payment Terms

To secure your move, advance planning is recommended.

1. Reservations: Book via phone, email, or website with a 25% deposit, which is credited to the final bill. Peak season (May-September) requires at least 4 weeks’ notice.
2. Payments: Balance due upon delivery in USD via cash, check, or credit card (3% fee applies). Late payments accrue 1.5% monthly interest.
3. Changes and Cancellations: Modifications need 10 days’ notice. Cancellations within 7 days forfeit the deposit; force majeure events (e.g., natural disasters) may allow rescheduling without penalty.

Liability and Insurance

We handle your belongings with care, but coverage is key.

1. Basic Liability: Standard coverage is Released Value Protection at $0.60 per pound per article, included at no extra cost.
2. Enhanced Options: Full Value Protection is available for purchase, covering repair, replacement, or reimbursement with deductibles starting at $250. High-value items must be declared in advance.
3. Claims Process: Inspect items upon delivery and report damage within 9 months with evidence. We process claims per FMCSA guidelines; disputes are subject to arbitration.

Client Responsibilities

Your cooperation ensures efficiency and safety.

1. Preparation: Provide clear access, obtain permits (e.g., parking), and disclose special needs like stairs or elevators.
2. Safety Protocols: Keep children, pets, and valuables secure during operations. No smoking or hazardous activities on-site.
3. Inventory Review: A bill of lading is created; review and sign it to confirm accuracy.

Additional Provisions

1. Storage Services: Short-term storage in secure facilities with monthly fees; climate-controlled options available.
2. Delays: We aim for timely service, but delays from weather or external events are not compensable. Updates will be provided.
3. Governing Law: These terms are governed by the laws of the originating state and federal regulations. Amendments must be in writing.
